I recommend using a fleece cloth diaper cover over a prefold with a hemp doubler or a fitted diaper such as the Little for Now fitted cloth diaper with hemp soaker. High-quality laminated fleece from Malden Mills (sold as Windpro) is made with 2 layers of fleece for breathable leakproof protection. This is the heaviest fleece Malden Mills sells so it makes wonderfully effective cloth diaper covers.

Little for Now cloth diaper covers have lots of snaps across the front for maximum adjustability. Small cloth diaper covers have 6 rows of snaps, mediums and larges have 8 rows of snaps. Waist and leg snaps can be adjusted separately for a great fit on babies of any size. These covers fit well on babies with thin or chunky thighs. The soft, stretchy fleece provides a comfortable, huggable fit.

Fleece cloth diaper covers can be air dried between uses during the day so you need fewer covers in rotation. Machine wash in any temperature and hang or tumble dry. Fleece cloth diaper covers are the only cloth diapering item on which you can use fabric softener.
