How to Fold a Prefold Cloth Diaper: Twist or Bikini Twist Fold

This cloth diaper fold is super simple and it puts extra absorbency in the middle where it is needed most. This is a good fold for babies who are long and thin as it reduces bulk between the legs without reducing absorbency.

Start with the prefold or flat diaper facing you with one narrow end towards you. Then, simply pick up the front of the diaper and twist it. The photo below shows a flat fold diaper but it is the same concept.

Bikini Fold

Place baby on the diaper and then pull the front of the diaper up between the baby's legs. If needed, you can fold the front edge in to shorten the diaper as needed. Secure with pins or a Snappi.
